High school juniors should plan to take the SAT or ACT in the spring of their junior year. Seniors should plan to assess as soon as possible in the fall of their senior year.
-
Seniors should also consider taking the test multiple times (after studying) to improve test scores. This will also help if you apply to a college that use the Super Scoring Technique.

 SAT
-
No penalty for wrong answers, so students don’t have to worry about losing points for guessing incorrectly. (Just like on the ACT.)
-
There are only 4 answer choices instead of 5. (Just like on the ACT.)
-
Students may be more familiar with some of the vocabulary tested, but they will need to know multiple definitions of those words.
